How will we work together? —
I’m here to guide you through your personal and individual challenges of being an artist.
Mentoring includes working with both the Art Making side of you and, for those of you who sell your work, the Art Business side of you. My role is to increase your confidence in your Art Making and Art Business by helping you perceive and develop the necessary skills. We will connect through Zoom sessions, emails, texting and phone calls.
OUR COACHING RELATIONSHIP
▪ Tailored to your unique needs. Every student has their own challenges and, yet, some are universal. As your mentor I will be able to validate your experiences and give you direction.
▪ Collaborative. Our relationship is a two way street. Your input, intentions, motivation and work are important. You must be motivated to participate. I am not here to hold you accountable to showing up to your “easel.”
▪ Supportive. You will receive ongoing support, encouragement and structure as we work together.
-
▪ Review (I do no like the world critique) and help with any current or past works in progress
▪ All subject matter is acceptable. Landscape, figurative, abstract, etc. (no violence or erotica)
▪ Questions regarding techniques
▪ Knowing when a work is complete
▪ Problems with color choices and harmony
▪ Understanding composition
▪ Building confidence
▪ Creating an “artistic voice”
▪ Working in a series
▪ Switching mediums—acrylic to oil for example
▪ Becoming a professional (paid) artist
▪ Approaching galleries
▪ Pricing your work
▪ Dealing with a price increase
HOW IT WORKS
Session Length: One Month
There is no minimum or maximum number required on the sessions. I have worked with students for one month and others for for several years.
Session Cost: $300* per Session
*There may be an additional fee if you need a significant amount of extra time in certain months.
Individual Session Engagement
We mutually decide the parameters in our first Zoom session. Typically I meet with students in a Zoom for 60 minutes, two times per month. You will also have access to me by text and I will respond as soon as possible. This works well when you are in your studio working and need an outside eye to comment and give feedback. Obviously, some of that can depend on time zones, but I have worked with students around the world successfully using this method. Phone calls and emails are also possible.
