Five Elements of Design in Abstraction:
Line, Value, Color, Shape, Texture
Available Early 2019

This course explains the Five Elements of Design as they relate to creating abstract work. I refer to these Elements as the alphabet to your painting novel. They are the foundation for all art making, and if you are unfamiliar with them then this course is a must. But I also speak specifically to their use in abstraction, as all two–dimensional abstract work is made up of one or more of these Elements.

•Do you struggle with the infinite choices in creating abstract work?

•Do you ever freeze up with wondering what to do next?

•Do you need some ideas for what to focus on in your abstracts?

Having the basic knowledge of these Elements will give you direction in your painting problem solving and prepare you further for advanced work with composition and design.

Multiple mediums are used in the video demos and you are free to use any medium you prefer in this course.

Available Early 2019
