About The Course:

The course that so many of you have asked for!
Learn how to work with cold wax medium and how I create my figurative oil* and cold wax paintings. I walk you through my favorite cold wax techniques and show you exactly how I work with the medium to create figurative work. Even though I work with the human form, these concepts could apply to any type of “Figurism” including animals, still lives, and even landscapes. At the end of the course you will have a solid foundation in cold wax techniques and plenty of new ideas to keep you busy for months to come.
This eCourse is made up of a series of lessons. Students are encouraged to complete each lesson before continuing to the next lesson for best continuity of instruction and content.

  • This course uses oil paint and cold wax. I do not work with acrylics. In general, cold wax does not work with acrylics as oil and water don’t mix. HOWEVER, there is a relatively new product on the market called Ceracolors. It is water based wax paint that can be used with their cold wax products. I do not use this product and I am not familiar with it. I am simply aware of it. If you are an acrylic painter and would like to try it, feel free, but I cannot answer any technical questions and cannot guarantee that the techniques I use will transfer to this product.

All material is pre-recorded so that you may watch when you wish. Videos, demos, slideshows, links, and lots of rich content will keep you busy.
▸ ALL VIDEOS ARE DOWNLOADABLE.

Of all your classes, which are superlative, this was my absolute favorite. I learned a lot (cold wax painting is not oil painting) and will march forward with a well-stocked arsenal of techniques, advice, information, and your expertise. Thank you so much for all the effort, enthusiasm, caring, and attention you put into not only the course content but also in helping all of us learn these techniques. This course has led to  a new direction for me and my art. Amazing stuff. Thank you.
